who we are
It comes down to communication.
Founder Chris with the first batch of hoodies
Adults and children with communication challenges should have equal opportunities to speak as themselves. Our goal is to provide tools that not only function but look great too and can provide confidence to the wearer.
It started small. Chris wanted to create a hoodie that just said left and right on the cuffs for themselves and others that have difficulty with directions. But then that idea sparked another - why stop there? There's so much that could be communicated, so why not take it further?
We started with the sleeves by adding "yes" and "no". This was really the beginning of what has become our goal with SAY. The ability to communicate your needs without ever needing to speak a word. However, with a simple yes or no, something is always missing: politeness. On the reverse side, we then added "please" and "thank you", that way people can say more. We believe everyone should have the option to be polite at any given chance.
From there we looked at other needs that should be communicated: feelings, thoughts, hunger, and more. We thought that this idea was so desired that there had to have been others to do the same. So, we spent time and looked. After hours of research spread over a couple weeks, we found any other option out there was limited, and that's not what we were anticipating.
We are here to fill that gap and provide a unique and useful piece of wear that children and adults alike can use. Everyone deserves the opportunity to speak as themselves.
